Why, hello, Martin. It must be slightly inconvenient to be an ermine when there’s no snow, which is probably why he doesn’t take this particular shape that often. My current head canon (can authors have head canon for their own books?) says that he can’t change colour and become a stoat, even though they’re the same animal. Why? Not sure yet. I’ll have to ask him about it sometime.
