unhistorical:

April 23, 1775: J.M.W. Turner is born.

[Turner] became known as ‘the painter of light’, because of his increasing interest in brilliant colours as the main constituent in his landscapes and seascapes.

The top painting (“Rain, Steam and Speed”) is hanging on the wall of Paul’s bedroom in Knife.

The biggest hung over the bureau: a swirling storm of gold, ochre and blue with a dark shape moving through it.

And here are the other paintings from Paul’s bedroom:

Another frame showed pine trees amid a snowy landscape, overshadowed by distant spires.

— Caspar David Friedrich, Winter Landscape (probably 1811)

Across the room, a host of tiny figures swarmed against a backdrop of lakes and mountains.

— Albrecht Altdorfer, The Battle of Alexander at Issus (1529)

And in the far corner, a man looked straight into a mirror at the back of his own head.

— René Magritte, La Reproduction Interdite (1937)

fringe-element:

This lovely Frankendolly happened entirely by accident. The wig and head were meant to be for a custom project, but when I discovered that Momoko bodies are so fragile that if you’re BREATHE on them wrong bits will fall off, I decided to put this Stardoll Fallen Angel head on the matching Momoko body and dress her. She looks AMAZING and I think I am in love with her. I need to touch up her eye make-up (due to removing her rooted lashes) but otherwise… I’m in love. She just has so much attitude.

I don’t think Peri would wear quite this much makeup, but apart from that, this could totally be her a couple of years after Knife

…or “faery”! I can’t believe they left that variation out. I wanted the “ae” in there to suggest the older tradition (as opposed to “fairy” which to me says “Post-Disney Tinkerbell”) yet I didn’t like the “ie” ending because it looked/sounded a little too ethereal*. So I went with “faery” rather than “faerie”.
The same logic applied to my choice of  ”piskey” in Swift rather than pixie / pisky / piskie, only in that case none of them sounded entirely right to me, and the final choice between “pisky” and “piskey” was determined by Cornish tradition.

You Take My Breath Away by *Street-Angel
Peri and Paul from RJ Anderson’s Faery Rebels series consisting of Knife, Rebel and Arrow. If you like faery and human interaction stories this is definitely a series for you. It doesn’t focus on the romance, in fact, it goes on the subtle back burner while the protagonists keep the action rolling over. What I loved most about Peri and Paul’s relationship was how you got to see glimpses of how it had grown through all three books even though the protagonist changed. There was a lot of room for the imagination to take over and fill in the gaps and I think that made it all the more intriguing and powerful.Enjoy 8D

THAT NOISE YOU HEAR IS ME WHISTLING LIKE A TEAKETTLE AND THEN FALLING OVER. AND FLAILING. A LOT.
